  • Time Suckers

Indian schools are time suckers. The entire education system probably is.

They have a hard time promoting ‘reading’ among the kids. And on top of that, they do not leave much time for the kids to develop any sort of reading habit.

    2 situations below:

Schools + Incompetent Teachers + Mobile Phones + Tuition Classes

Poor Schools + Poor Towns + Poor Villages + Poor Teachers

  • This or This

In my search for good books, I’ve come across book titles like these:

You Are Born Funny Or The Funniness Gene

I’ve made that title up actually. But I guess you get the drift. These are titles with effectively two titles or names for the book. ‘Or’ does that job.

I’ve been thinking about giving a name or label to my kind of pants which I want to market and sell some time soon. And I boarded the ‘or’ naming train today morning. Here’s the result:

Aircan Or Soni’s Chinos Or Type 475 Or…

I love this sort of naming.

I know I know what I’ve triggered here. A barrel full of questions!

What would you actually write on the label since the space is tiny?

What would be the domain name if you name your pants misusing the facility of ‘or’?

What would want the potential customers to remember?

What would you write on the social media posters? And in the social media posts?

O God, it’s not a book, they are pants! Why are you doing this!

  • Discovery of…

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

    No no no no no!

I am not going to list these events. Listing is a necessity and a pain, all the same. And then the horror of recounting positive events!

I discovered Richard J Murphy on Youtube. And I happily watched 2 of his videos today. And he is so so so good in explaining a lot of things.

Watching good videos is a positive event?

    Do check him out.

  • Before it evaporates!

    “We exist in shapes!”

One could even write that “we exist in space”. Plural? “We exist in spaces.”

    What’s the difference?

  • 10th page

10th page of search results on Google, that’s what I jump to now as soon as I do any search.

Interesting results. Why don’t you try with 7th, and move either way you like.

  • Difference?

Difference between mood, temperament, feelings, emotion?

Insane answers available on the web. Horror!

And all the while I have been reading and uttering these words without any serious thought.

  • Feeling or Emotion

Anger, is that a feeling or an emotion?

Wow, I can’t distinguish between these!

I took these for granted. Or rather was so confident of understanding these. Curveball!

Our moments of memory VERSUS data in storage media pretending to be memory…

    Memory without writing on paper

Memory without recordings on storage media

    Uncompiled, unsequenced, unnarratized memories…

  • Feelings!

What are your feelings about eating meat?

    Feelings are typically unpleasant.

But lions also eat meat. They do the killing themselves. They are the gods for their prey, in a way. Sometimes, gods fail but they succeed on enough number of occasions. So yeah, they do the killing.

Typically human meaters do not do the killing. It was a skill once well-spread. Now much less so.

I read somewhere that because of the fashion of meating there are places that have become lakes of pig-shit and humans have slipped into these lakes and drowned and died too.

Who are your current most favorite people?

Current? This moment? These 15 minutes?

People who encourage me through their efforts in pursuing my ideas, my curiosities?

My current most favorite people are those who made such a thing and made it possible for me to buy.

    Amazing!

  • MIE

My reading efforts feel to me like MIE, Massive Imperfect Explorations.

Explorations feel imperfect more often than not, no?

Rather, one of the characteristics of exploration is imperfection. Even so, the word doesn’t feel redundant in the expression.

  • Repressed Emotions?

I just came across a Youtube video titled “How Repressed Emotions Trigger Autoimmune Disease”. I think I believe it.

So if you have any autoimmune disease, it would be right for you to ask, “Has any emotion been repressed?”

The next question then is, “Which is that emotion / which are those emotions that have been repressed?”

Obviously when you ask such questions, you will attempt to answer in words.

So the next question is, “Is it possible to identify and name the repressed emotion(s)?”

It is a big deal. It is worth the exercise. No?

    Daily writing prompt
If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

Meeting? The question must also state the time-limit for such a meeting, isn’t it?

I would like to meet many historical figures; is that greed?

Okay, I would like to meet Gutenberg, and if the meeting extends for years I don’t mind.

  • Head Spins & Price for Blogging

    I see what’s happening.

Early morning Youtube bingeing spins my head. The sounds, voices, background music… Quieter mornings are better mornings.

Blog-portability is an issue. Have you ever tried doing that?

If I want to preserve these thoughts I type on this wordpress blog, I shall have to pay for the storage every single year. No?

I can write all such stuff in my notebooks (paper notebooks I mean) but then I can’t share with you, I can’t spread the stuff I write. I have to pay a price to spread, to share.

  • Garden

What is your favorite place to go in your city?

Couple of kilometers away from my residence, there is this huge garden with a long stretch of pathway paved with hard clay, and shaded with huge canopies of trees on the sides of this pathway. I haven’t done sprints there but I have had walks on different occasions.

  • Two Sides

“The tool comes in the way.”

Plenty of websites and software are made this way.

Is piano or guitar a tool?

Mastering a tool requires practice. Practice isn’t straight-forward.

    “Practice isn’t straight-forward.”

“Find me a way to practice.”

  • Conversation

What’s the first impression you want to give people?

    I never thought about this.

But now that I am compelled to think, I want to give this impression:

We can have a good conversation and we can walk long while talking.

The trouble is I often meet people in places where I find them sitting and sipping and eating.
