  • Sometimes it can take years to describe…

    Daily writing prompt
How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?

    This is some question.

If that person can’t see me but in a few moments can try, what I call, the leg-covers (okay, pants or bottoms in usual parlance) I’ve taken a few years to shape, that person would come to know something. Would that be description enough?

  • Dusty + Non-linears

Describing a dress isn’t easy. This needs a visual as an answer.

Anyhow, a dusty short or a white shirt over a pair of ‘non-linears’. What are ‘non-linears’? Pants made out of asymmetrical non-linear pattern of cutting. I will post a pic soon. Developing a website to this pattern too.

  • This or This

In my search for good books, I’ve come across book titles like these:

You Are Born Funny Or The Funniness Gene

I’ve made that title up actually. But I guess you get the drift. These are titles with effectively two titles or names for the book. ‘Or’ does that job.

I’ve been thinking about giving a name or label to my kind of pants which I want to market and sell some time soon. And I boarded the ‘or’ naming train today morning. Here’s the result:

Aircan Or Soni’s Chinos Or Type 475 Or…

I love this sort of naming.

I know I know what I’ve triggered here. A barrel full of questions!

What would you actually write on the label since the space is tiny?

What would be the domain name if you name your pants misusing the facility of ‘or’?

What would want the potential customers to remember?

What would you write on the social media posters? And in the social media posts?

O God, it’s not a book, they are pants! Why are you doing this!

  • Phase

    Daily writing prompt
Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.

    This prompt is double-edged.

Meaning # 1: A phase you would love to live forever in.

Meaning # 2: A phase that sticks to you like mad, love or no love.

Look, am going through a phase that just feels like going on forever. And it’s a mixed bag. That kind that could make anyone shake and shiver.

I’ve figured a design that I’ve had a really hard time getting translated through the hands of tailors into an amazing pair of pants; I desire to turn it into a commercial venture. How many iterations? I’ve lost count. While I’ve learned through all these efforts over the last few years, I feel like I must say goodbye to this phase now and start testing it in the market.

  • AirCan Pants and Oriental Collared Shirts

If you were forced to wear one outfit over and over again, what would it be?

The subject line answers the question.

In the Indian weather, for most geographies and for a very good part of the year, that’s always the desire: Airy Dressing.

Answered better through pics actually. So pics shall follow soon.

  • Mishinology

There’s this lovely website (website is such a bad matter in such moments), there’s this elegant effort (effort, not so bad as the expression website but is it ambiguous?), ya, so, there’s this effort called Mishinology I came across, and it made me think about what I would call my effort.

    They first page says:

The website name “MISHINOLOGY” comes from the Japanese ミシン – mishin, which means “sewing machine”.

In the last few years, I’ve put so much into understanding pants, and then coming up with a design that I would personally want to wear all the time; I plan to manufacture and release these pants for others to wear too.

How should I name my effort? As readily as names come to me, sometimes I really have a hard time. There’s still some time. And I hope I have the names. It is already emerging out of my head in plural. God!

3rd day of intensively searching online for appropriately fitting pants. It looks like my ‘appropriate’ isn’t appropriate for marketers and buyers in India.

Sweat pants (thick knit to sweat)
    Track pants (polyester typically)
    Joggers (twill often)

All meant to sweat and stifle the legs. All marketed and sold in India.

These sellers of trousers. Weird. To me, inseam measure doesn’t mean a thing if I don’t have the measure of the full length. And yet, they mention only the inseam measure.
