  • Return on Window Shopping

So you are able to collect a lot of data on Window-shopping.

Now you believe, that this data, in combination with easy debt, can make you sell 10 times or 20 times or 50 times of a category that would usually not sell as much.

Ha! That converts any category into an FMCG-like thing… Fast Moving XYZ. Fast Fashion, for once, a solid example.

So this huge quantity of data on Window-shopping has offered every marketer a chance to spray ads and reminders (with obnoxious abstract English and meanings) on Gmail, FB, Insta, Google, Whatsapp, and whatever other ad-dependent app frequently used.

Am pretty sure there are ‘Negative Returns’ once the frequency of Window-shopping crosses a certain limit, for the buyer and for the marketer both. And therefore, there would be ‘Negative Returns’ on data collected on Window-shopping too. And there would be ‘Negative Returns’ on all the processing and mulling done on the data collected on Window-shopping.

There can be a burst in ‘buying’ of a certain category, but beware of the thinking that tends towards FMCG-marketing. Enjoy the bursts, but can anyone stop the data-processes?

Returns on Window Shopping, that we must call as RoWS.
Negative Returns on Window Shopping, that we must call as NegRoWS.

  • 8 sets of 4 each

What I’ve done is this: I’ve limited every set of push-ups to 10, every set of chin-ups to 4. As a result, I am able to cross 200 push-ups fairly easily. I am able to do 8 sets of chin-ups quiet comfortably.

Earlier, I would push myself to almost failure in the first set itself. Subsequent sets, I would struggle and would have to push myself to failure. The reps in sets fluctuated. Felt erratic. Sometimes just didn’t get a satisfying feeling. And would get hyper tired.

Let’s see how this change shapes my effort.

  • Observing feet in shoes

    Dear Shoe-lover,

This will require some visualization, especially if you don’t use elevators daily.

Waiting for the elevator and then, standing inside the elevator, eyes mostly staring at the floor, I get to see the shoes of fellow elevator-riders.

Most bulging at the sides of the feet, as if trying to push the uppers out.

My hypothesis feels validated: shoe-makers in India sell ill-fitting shoes to Indians.

  • Explaining Start-up to Myself

Late realization! But then I am so often late.

    Start-up is a unit.

Start-up is a unit of stock.

Start-up is a unit of stock that can be stocked by a stockist.

Start-up is a unit of stock that can be stocked by a stockist, and bought and sold based on opportunities.

  • Content Writing for Whom?

The way I see things happening, content writing is happening primarily for SEO.

What’s SEO? Or what is it for? For pleasing Google.

It’s another matter though that a big part of Google’s way of ranking and listing may still be a black box for most.

But, let’s say, it isn’t a black box and most of us know precisely how it works.

After pleasing Google, the content has to cross the barrier called human reader. Unless, you say that Google ranking is all that counts for the reader or non-reader, and that all the writing is meant to just please Shri Google.

All the bulleting and keywording that you indulge in, does it bore the reader, does the style appeal to the reader, does it help the reader make sense of the complex matter that is your product or service?

Oh, your SEO optimized content writing + the ridiculous graphical confusion on the screen converts the non-reader who becomes your customer?! Hats off!

  • Is Google trusted?

That is an incomplete question. May be it is wrong too.

What will make this question complete? Let me try.

Is Google trusted by all the Indians who use internet?

Do all the Indians who use internet use Google too? That looks an unlikely thing. But the answer to that question may have plenty of interesting things to reveal.

So there are internet users who are Google users and those who are not Google users.

Same can be said for Facebook users and Instagram users and Whatsapp users.

And there would be internet users who are non-FB, non-Insta, non-Whatsapp, non-Google users. What a bunch of folks these would be! Would be interesting to explore and understand these users.

  • How many read?

    That’s a misleading question.

I meant to ask “How many read these thoughts I am posting”?

In the last couple of days since I’ve started sharing the links to these posts as Whatsapp Statuses, I see that at least 300-400 folks see each of these statuses on their screens. How many actually read? 3, 5, 10!

No it isn’t anyone’s fault, but such is the system that has gotten created and such is the density of inanity that needs to be penetrated. And such are the processes of lifestyles.

  • For Start-up Founders

There’s a difference between marketing efforts that serve as reminders, and marketing efforts that serve to improve your coverage.

Word-of-mouth spreads when spreads. Often quite slowly, rarely swiftly.

Don’t let reminders leading to repeat business push you into comfort zone.

  • Walking vs Scooting

In the range of 300 to 500 metres, how many such distances you walk down compared to scooting down?

If you can even roughly measure that, can indicate what’s wrong or right in your head.

  • Chin-ups-in-Progress

    Dear Razia Sultan,

So my motion through chin-ups has gotten so much better. Am pleasantly surprised. Took quite a long time to come to this. I wouldn’t have imagined such a long time, but then I didn’t keep a track of progress in motion and time, both. I just kept doing different variations and tried to improve the counts.

Did you keep a track of your age Razia Sultan? How would you have measured the impact of your incredible political moves?

Here I am just happy with my chin-up counts.

I visited a Crocs showroom to try my luck. By the length of my foot, the size turns out to be 10. By the width, it turns out to be 11. Which means if I want shoes wide-enough to comfortably accommodate my feet, I have to wear shoes longer (about 3 quarters of an inch longer) than my feet. How folks of this country continue to endure such crap!

Feet are 3 dimensional. And everyone’s feet, unique like their bodies and faces. And yet, in this country, most shoe sellers sell on the basis of one dimension: length.

She says, you gotta spend time finding the right fit, the right shoes! Wow!

I wonder how the shoe sellers create such enormous range of shoes and such huge businesses in this day and age and dish out such obvious crap.
