  • Words in Good Shape

Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

    Play and playtime?

    Wrestling,

    Wrenching,

    Coaxing,

    These words into good shape,

Shape such that they sound great.

  • Visuosonic Process

    Reading is visuosonic process.

I am misleading you. A little bit.

    It is a sonic process.

    What is a ‘word’?

It doesn’t change when you are reading, writing or speaking and listening.

While reading you are looking at a word?

While writing you are creating a word in a visual shape?

While speaking you are creating a word in some sound-like thing?

While listening you are hearing a word in se sound-like thing?

After you look at a word while reading, that looking creates a sound. Without that sound, there is nothing. No word, no meaning.

    Look serves the sound.

  • That Couplet

    What are your biggest challenges?

Look, at this moment, it is to capture my idea in a rhyming, meter-matched couplet. Been going on days now and I am not yet close to crafting that couplet.

  • Branding

The sounds of names, and the sounds of combination of words with those names, that travel from tongue to tongue result in ‘branding’.

Visual logo brands the package; the sounds brand the consumer with your brand.

  • Ugly Feet

It is easy to find sources of ugliness. And the ultimate source is one’s own body! No?

You can find fault with your face, your fingernails, your tummy, your bums, your feet.

Short people with small feet, they tend to like longer shoes.

  • Strange Sources

    What makes you feel nostalgic?

Motorcycling at certain times of the day, under certain kinds of lights, passing by certain spaces, and the scent, the scent, that scent held by the air around, sometimes carried by the breeze…

I just got the clutch-cable replaced and my motorcycle is sprightly again, as if my legs have resumed fast bowling… Sources of nostalgia are strange I tell you.

  • Making a great decision

    When are you most happy?

Finding a good book makes me most happy. But hold on, it isn’t that simple.

It is a sequence of decisions.

I decide to browse titles on certain topics.

Certain titles pique my interest, so I read the descriptions.

Then I sample the book with the most interesting description by reading the first few pages.

I really look forward to the first few pages, usually called preface or introduction. Those first few pages, if they rivet me, I know picking the book up was a great decision. And that really makes me happy.

Nothing like making a great decision.

Mornings and nightly mornings way before dawn…

  • Movements within Language

Some meaning that was attributed to the word PASSION moved to the word EMOTION.

I am not sure how deliberately and consciously we look at such movements of meanings.

New meanings also get created and get attributed to the same words which did not mean those things at all.

    Crazy!

  • No reason

Human beings’ search for the inarticulable among words creates more words and yet more words, theories and yet more theories.

    Some help, many don’t.

It might appear upon plenty of digging that certain words got created out of a need for change, more than anything else, more than accuracy or precision.

  • Every morning

    Daily writing prompt
What was the last thing you did for play or fun?

It’s always this thing in my case. And it is not the last thing because it is a repetitive thing, almost every morning. So, I repeat the last thing I might say.

Browsing titles of books triggered by certain words. Sampling. And reading. In between, writing here.

  • FF Extractor

    I mean Facebook Feed Extractor.

I want something like that to analyze the feed that I am scrolling. Would open a bit the tightly shut algorithmic blackbox that influences the way I use my time.

Would you want one? Is there already one available?

  • Writing

Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

I don’t picture, but I do not think if I had pictured one year back I would have pictured this.

But you see pictures can intersect. So writing the way I am doing, I would surely have pictured if I had pictured.

  • Horrifying Realization

Where does data reside? In a database?

Want to move data? Move the database. How?

Portability? Publishing templates like blogs can often be ported; I haven’t tried it but I can imagine coz the template is simple enough generally. And yet, there could be problems.

Can you withdraw all your data? And keep where?

  • Boring

    Daily writing prompt
What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

Skills or Lessons? Skills and Lessons?

I’ve been trying to develop my skills of digging, burrowing and sliding into the rabbit hole of newsletters. I have taken some steps. Lesson is, the variety in software is no less than variety in fashion-wear.

Also I’ve been trying to develop the skill of staying away from scrolling on my mobile phone, especially the Youtube feed. Made some headway there.

There’s more but tell you what, at this moment, writing the journey of my skill-development is quite boring. Walking the path is not so boring.

  • Improvement

Couple of days back I wrote about HABIT EXTENSION.

    What constitutes a habit?

Movements and whatever is between movements. I relish the pauses between movements but then here I am referring to movements more so.

I want to liken Movement to Action. And interchangeably use these words. Though I understand that Action sounds seriouser and heavier than Movement. In other ways, political especially or cause-driven, Movement feels heavier than Action.

Habitual Movement Extension. You are extending habitual movements when you say you are extending a habit.

    Habitual Action Extension… Hmm…
