  • Sofa in your Jeans

That subject-line or phrase may not make much sense, except that I’ve been thinking for long that in India, the twill fabric we call ‘jeans’ is better suitable for draping sofas, like upholstery you know.

Just fooling around to see if any AI tool can rhyme with SOFA IN YOUR JEANS and I get this! It’s a full AI-generated poem!!! Not bad! Amazing actually! I would’ve taken a while to write something like this. This is unfiltered and unedited.

I tried to squeeze, I stretched and strained,
    My jeans felt tighter, unrestrained.
A bulky lump, a curious sight,
Like sofa cushions, crammed in tight.

My pockets bulged, a dreadful plight,
No graceful curve, no figure right.
I walked with waddle, rather slow,
    A sofa’s presence, all aglow.

Perhaps some springs, a plushy seat,
To offer comfort to my feet?
But no, it’s just my keys and phone,
That make my jeans a comfort throne.

So lesson learned, before I flee,
To empty pockets, wild and free.
Lest I resemble, in my plight,
A sofa stuffed in jeans so tight!

That last line of the 3rd stanza doesn’t fit, doesn’t sound right at all! And the 2nd line in the 4th stanza, I can’t relate that to the other thoughts in the poem. Funnn anyhow!

  • Reading

    Turning the cover page,

    Opening the book,

Reading till you forget to stop,

Reading till you get tired or sleepy or bored,

Reading such that you are breathless with ideas,

    Reading such that you just can’t finish reading the entire book;

    That’s alright,

That’s what a book is meant to do.

A poetic line isn’t just a part of marketing. Marketing is a part of the poetic line.

I may replace ‘marketing’ with any other expression, like ‘medium’.
