What is something others do that sparks your admiration?
The grind that one chooses to undergo to make something happen, that which can only be seen by very few who are around when one is going through it.
morning boy's letters on serious matters and commentary on funny things aplenty
What is something others do that sparks your admiration?
The grind that one chooses to undergo to make something happen, that which can only be seen by very few who are around when one is going through it.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?
The thing about ‘keeping’ is ‘where are you keeping it’.
The way folks keep their mobile phones tells me that mobile phone is the coolest thing for most of us. And then the way they keep the mobile-camera’s button-icon or instagram’s button-icon on their mobile phones would tell us that those are the coolest things in their lives.
For quite a while, I carried my dictionary like I carry my mobile phone these days.
You set out to learn. In the process, an invention can take place.
Holiday is a post-facto tag that I give to any day or a section of time.
If I learn well on any particular day, I count that as a holiday. Because the relief and relaxation I feel at the end of that day or that section of time is bigger than anything.
Writing a post and connecting with some folks who understand what I am trying to convey is celebration.
What’s the trait you value most about yourself?
Think of the word STORAGE.
The way this word feels when spoken or written… As if everything in STORAGE is safe and sound and stationary and available when required.
Turns out that Digital Storage is anything but safe and sound and stationary and available when required.
When I worm about words, I come to know all sorts of things about our own behavior and machinations.
What motivates you?
The question feels incomplete even though it can be answered.
Book with a riveting title.
Names.
A unique word.
A couplet.
Fresh morning air.
The thought of running.
Ideas that swirl in my head early morning.
Looking at a lovely face.
A good night’s sleep.
Jump squats with weights.
Motivation is hidden in so many moments. And often I only figure the ‘what’ long after the moments have passed by.
Can we ask a question like, “What motivates the body to breathe?”
Motivation is often as obvious or unobvious as that. Body has its reasons but it may not have the words often.
This is some question.
If that person can’t see me but in a few moments can try, what I call, the leg-covers (okay, pants or bottoms in usual parlance) I’ve taken a few years to shape, that person would come to know something. Would that be description enough?
What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?
If there were a list, it would help surely to offer a comprehensive answer.
The point about tradition, like ritual and habit, is the describing of practising of any tradition in detail. All the moves one makes in following or not following a tradition.
Here’s one top of the mind. I did not learn or was prompted to learn our regional language or dialect one may say. MEWARI.
My parents speak in Mewari when they meet certain people, but I speak in Hindi. But wait, is this a matter of tradition? Language is a part of tradition, but speaking with others in Mewari, is that a matter of tradition?
What foods would you like to make?
Generally, I would not want to behead, stab, or wring life out of a living being to make my food; I wouldn’t mind making any food otherwise.
On what subject(s) are you an authority?
Though a question like is a bit awkward too. Authority sounds heavy but I am ready to assume it.
WORDING
Example.
There is a difference between GOAT and GREATEST RECORD BREAKER. Overlap possible but not necessary.
Djokovic is the latter: GREB (Greatest Record Breaker).
I’ve got the word. And now I am sleeping peacefully.
For me, genuine gratitude often emerge in couplets, triplets and short poems.
Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?
Sustainable lifestyle?
Hello, this phrase is soooooo abused but it is in currency. Folks feel guilty, so give them something to tom tom please! Let’s give them ‘sustainable’.
What are your measures?
Sustainable lifestyle for whom? For what? The world, your neighborhood, your country, your pets, your family, your friends, your workplace, the animals around, the trees around, the soil, the air, the water, etc etc.
Most of the things happening are beyond our sights. All the statistics in the media are statistixed and compiled beyond your sights. All you see is, “Study says…”, “Science says…”, “Experts say…”, “Report by Falana Institute says…” and this and that.
3-minute docu-type reels have made a thorough mess of understanding.
Wait, do you know the names of the plants, trees and insects that live in your neighborhood within 100 metres of your house?
I am living to survive and to write and to record some funny things. Long back, I bought some office-space very close to my residence, and I often walk down or ride my bike around for my errands. And I work out in non-air-conditioned surroundings.
It already feels like an angry essay. Thanks.
What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?
Am wondering if I should answer this question… Kiss is the most delicious thing. You might say, one feels a kiss, not eat it. Alright.
Leave it.
Btw, for a long long time I relished having Domino’s Cheese Burst Pizza. I still might relish it but I am wary of the quality of ingredients and some other stuff that goes on at their outlets. Is my wariness genuine?
Describing a dress isn’t easy. This needs a visual as an answer.
Anyhow, a dusty short or a white shirt over a pair of ‘non-linears’. What are ‘non-linears’? Pants made out of asymmetrical non-linear pattern of cutting. I will post a pic soon. Developing a website to this pattern too.
Why? Actually that’s my label. And we have worked in a way and maintained such quality and service levels that quite a few of our patrons, over the years, each has bought more than 100 or 200 or 300 pairs of earrings and jewelry pieces!
Fair to call it my favorite?
The other favorite is Sailor; have you tried Sailor’s fountain pens? Do you write with fountain pens?
Another favorite is Vibram’s FiveFingers.
I am trying to recall shoe labels that I am really fond of. Hard pressed. None of them impress any more. They are all boat-shaped funny shoes.
Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?
Here:
There would be no safety in numbers when the right one walks out of the door.
From a Pink Floyd song
Books, made of paper, lying on a book-shelf for years and years… Stock of books lying on the the book-shelf means Storage. This can go on for decades and decades. No electricity or fuel needed actually, except perhaps when you produce those books using printing technology or machines and then transport those books to their destinations. You can see that stock. You can witness that storage.
Non-paper data? Youtube? You can make use of that only and only if the storage disks spin using electricity. Instantaneous use means the storage disks are running all the time using electricity.
Are all these thoughts ‘first thing’?
This wish can’t really be constant, isn’t it!
These days I wish I slept more than I do every 24 hours. Wait, I wish I really got tired of doing something worthwhile and then fell into deep sleeps; I don’t mind dreaming while sleeping.
Write about your dream home.
Come to think of it. You cannot dream of your home at will.
Dream home means ideal home, I get it.
Friends working in tandem, taking great decisions, and then partying every night and sleeping on time, and going for morning walks… Does that come close to a dream office or workplace? May be, that’s what home is for me.
What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?
😀
This thing is scandalous, even to put into words.
I can only think about it but never utter loudly in anyone’s presence. A song would do it though. So will make a song.
