What’s the story behind your nickname?

I don’t have any story unfortunately behind my nicknames. Love made folks call me with names. And they stuck as well.

Meanwhile, here’s a thought. I was trying to understand what results in good sound quality when you record a video. It turns out there’s a thing called preamplifier. It comes in different forms as well. Am pretty sure preamplifier has certain components that make a preamplifier. Each such component has a name.

Names of component parts make up a name called preamplifier. Now, that is educational. More educational than a lot of things touted as educational.

What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?

How hard it is to implement big strategies!

But there is onr strategy that works for me. I step out in the morning sun without questioning myself.

Sometimes I walk ever so slowly. Sometimes, by the time the sunrays hit my face, my feet break into a jog, sometimes into a run, and then everything starts feeling better.

Once soaked with sweat, body feels better. Mind wanders into ideas and book titles to explore…

  • Neighborhood Appreciation

What would you change about modern society?

The education system ought to gear itself to train youngsters in neighborhood appreciation.

Neighborhood includes geography, history of the neighborhood, trees, plants, animals small and big, minerals, public works, sources of water et al.

In India we have been very very poor in doing this.

  • Powerful Expression

In Jim Manzi’s book I come across a powerful expression:

    Causal Density

Don’t ask me. Just as there is a density of people, similarly there is a density of causes.

  • Machine Operators

    WordPress is a machine.

    Facebook is.

    Photoshop is.

    Windows is.

    Excel is.

We are machine operators. Who knew! Not a bad thing if you could show off your operating skills. Trouble is, we can hardly show off.

Now that we understand that we inadvertently have become machine operators, and we have proven pretty adept at that, let’s get our hands on some other machines and see if we like ourselves. See if we like ourselves without much to show off.

  • Tough question

    What’s your go-to comfort food?

Sweetened milk with some bread slices.

    Chewing on book titles along.

Sometimes just scrolling through the titles fills my tummy.

Is filling the tummy this way comforting?

    Tough question in a way.

  • Mt. Everest

Are you seeking security or adventure?

If I could decide such things so very deliberately, would I enjoy security or adventure, what I decide upon?

    This classification doesn’t work.

Even the most secure cannot not let the adventure creep in.

Now, more arduous than climbing Mt Everest turned out to be cleaning the dump on and around Mt. Everest.

  • Books @ Dinner

If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

I tend to talk quite a bit over dinner. I would invite the most avid book reader around, and also an arresting book reader, Kindle audible-like, to read to me while we chomp on the amazing food, and before chomping, and after chomping too.

I like this idea of dinner. May host plenty such dinners, if…

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

I watched the Spain vs France match late into the night. Woke up at 7:40 in the morning, primarily because a solitary fly that sneaked into my room kept irkingly crawling on my skin.

My ideal sleeping time is 9pm. And waking time is early in the morning just after sunrise. There is a reason this blog is named morningboy.space.

This question feels odd by the use of the word ‘currently’. On the first reading, feels like a usual question. Ponder a little, that ‘currently’ feels so wrong. Do you think about the question before jumping to answer it?

  • That’s like asking…

What is your favorite genre of music?

That’s like asking what’s your favorite background.

No, I don’t mean to say that there can’t be a favorite background.

I choose to take a certain route that is more scenic towards any destination in my city.

Sorry, I do mean to say that there cannot be a favorite background.

Can there be a favorite subject or foreground?

I liken the earrings I sell to songs quite often. But songs aren’t music all the time. I surely have favorite earrings.

  • Let’s say, 5 ways to practice…

    How do you practice self-care?

Plenty of ways to practice self-care, now that I ponder over the question.

    First, I felt, by reading.

Second, it struck me, by rummaging through plenty of titles to find the most intriguing titles to sample new books.

Third, the most convincing one, by being whimsical, in everything I do. With or without showing anyone what I do. That restores my faith.

Fourth, by giving a lot of time one fine day to self-grooming.

Fifth, stepping out to run, no matter the weather.

    Daily writing prompt
What countries do you want to visit?

I am an Indian citizen. So let me tell you the way I see things here, triggered by the word ‘country’.

Yesterday morning I could capture a sentiment this way:

Gormint is a country which rules another country that is non-gormint.

    Gormint = Government

So let us read it all over again:

Government is a country which rules another country that is non-government.

Right now, the situation has pinned into this country called government. I do not quite like, even if I can appreciate it in some way. I am here to stay for some time it seems. See you.

  • Can remember just these 3.

What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

    A China-made HERO fountain pen.

    My reading desk.

A little plastic case which holds my credit cards.

Is WINDOW a thing? And the sliding-bars curtain on it, is that also a thing? Do these 2 make the count 5?

What is your favorite season of year? Why?

    Morning is my favorite season.

Sun is out, mind is alert and ready to work on the newest ideas, body is energetic and often itching to break into a sprint, anticipation for my one and only coffee of the day is high. I recall some dreams from the night. Morning offers so much.

    Morning is my favorite season.
