Stock (or Storage)

Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

Books, made of paper, lying on a book-shelf for years and years… Stock of books lying on the the book-shelf means Storage. This can go on for decades and decades. No electricity or fuel needed actually, except perhaps when you produce those books using printing technology or machines and then transport those books to their destinations. You can see that stock. You can witness that storage.

Non-paper data? Youtube? You can make use of that only and only if the storage disks spin using electricity. Instantaneous use means the storage disks are running all the time using electricity.

Are all these thoughts ‘first thing’?
